Liquid Assets Bottled Water, Inc in Alliance with Planet Green Bottle Corporation to Introduce Oxo-Biodegradable Plastic Bottles to local Markets.

Scottsdale, AZ USA (9/15/09) – Liquid Assets Bottled Water, Inc, announces that the company has entered into an agreement with Planet Green Bottle Corp (PGBC) to introduce Reverte oxo-biodegradable plastic bottles to the bottled water communities it services throughout Texas and surrounding states. “We are starting to market the bottles out of our Texas facility and will be covering Arizona and our Southwest region next” Jim Shields, President of Liquid Assets Bottled Water, Inc mentioned.

Liquid Assets commitment increases PGBC affiliations with partner manufacturers toward the PGBC goal of 10 strategic partners all directed at the making the world’s PET plastic bottles oxo-biodegradable using PGBC proprietary Reverte additive. PGBC has the exclusive worldwide agreement with Wells Plastics , Ltd (UK) to introduce oxo-biodegradable PET performs and plastic bottles to the beverage and pharmaceutical industries on a global basis.

Plastic bottles containing Reverte  oxo-biodegradable technology will break down naturally and in most cases will turn into CO2, moisture and bio mass within 5-10 years, according to Planet Green Bottle. Reverte is a registered trademark of Wells Plastics Ltd. That has been specifically developed as an additive for PET plastic bottles that greatly enhances degradability of the bottles while keeping its clarity and tinsel strength. Specialized Industrial composting facilities are not required for oxo-biodegradable bottles that utilize the Reverte technology, as in the case with PLA (cornstarch-based) bottles.

Reverte has been formulated for a two year shelf life and the degradation process is triggered by UV light, heat and moisture. Plastic bottles utilizing Reverte will degrade in landfills, ditches, rivers and oceans. Equally as important, Reverte enhanced bottles are recyclable and fully compatible with Reverte municipal collection and recycling systems. There is no contamination with the recycling stream. As always, it is recommended that recycling be the first course of action.

“Reverte oxo-biodegradable bottles give the best of both worlds,” says Jim Shields, Liquid Assets Bottled Water, Inc. “We need to be better stewards of our planet and resources and oxo-biodegradable bottles that are recycle friendly, come a long way in assisting us in attaining that goal.” Says Shields.

At this time, it is not entirely known just how long it takes standard PET bottles to decompose, however many experts claim that it could take up to 1,000 years or more. Reverte oxo-biodegradable are an insurance policy for plastic bottles that miss the recycling bin for whatever reason.

Here’s how the oxo-biodegradability process works according to the products developers:

·         Reverte masterbatche is blended into the PET resins used to make the pre-forms for the bottles.

·         Once properly disposed of and exposed to UV light, heat and moisture, the discarded bottle commences its degradation profile, first embrittling and then braking into small pieces, once the molecular weight is reduced sufficiently the material becomes available for bio-digestion. In short, the broken matter becomes a food source for the bacteria or microbial activity. In general terms,  the anticipated time to totally degrade the plastic bottle is estimated to be about 5-10 years, depending on environmental conditions in which the bottle has been placed.

Today, approximately 60 billion PET plastic beverage bottles are discarded annually in the United States, according to industry sources. “Ten years ago, if those bottles had contained Reverte oxo-biodegradable technology there is a good chance they may have degraded. By now, we now can expect them to be in our environment for as many as 1000 years.” says Shields “Industry sources tell us only about 24% of all PET bottles are recycled leaving 77% to go landfills or just tossed out. That is why it is so important that the bottles water and beverage industry moves quickly to adopt Reverte technology in their oxo-biodegradable bottles and why Liquid Assets has gotten involved with this technology early on.”

Liquid Assets Bottled Water, Inc announces sustainablity report:

Scottsdale, AZ USA (05/05/09) Liquid Assets Bottled Water, Inc is a leader in the custom label bottled water industry is committed to doing what is right for the environment and to find ways to reduce our carbon footprint.  We are also working to inform people in a variety of different ways about our own personal responsibility to be environmentally friendly - “creating a better tomorrow than today”

Liquid Assets Bottled Water, sustainability vision is simple in concept, but far-reaching in impact. Environmental stewardship is a core part of this vision. Liquid Assets Bottled Water, Inc recognizes our responsibility to be a good steward of the environment, both as a corporate citizen and as a way to support the company’s goals.

Liquid Assets Bottled Water, Inc has worked to encourage recycling.  Every employee has a separate recycling bin at their desks, we use paper that contains post consumer recycled paper, that is acid free and free from harmful ink or dyes. We encourage and ask that all ink jet cartridges, batteries, cell phones are properly recycled as well as ask all employees and partners to stop getting junk mail. (Search for websites on how to “stop junk mail”).  We are also asking our customers to accept invoices via email instead of mail.

Liquid Assets Bottled Water Inc, uses Arizona Public Service (APS) for our energy at our corporate office, APS is doing all they can to use more solar power and 2011a plant called Solana that will be one of the largest solar plants in the world when completed.  We also use compact fluorescent light bulbs in the office.  This step alone helps reduce our carbon footprint in two ways.  First by reducing the amount of energy used and second, it reduces the amount of CO2 that we would be responsible for releasing in the atmosphere.

While we have considered corn-based plastics, we believe they are not a truly sustainable solution. They are likely to require the conversion of large tracts of land to agricultural usage, with profoundly detrimental impacts on those tracts' ecosystems. Large-scale use of corn-based plastics would also cause food prices to rise further. Even now, demand for corn-based ethanol is making food more costly, as the increasing scarcity of corn makes it more expensive to use as an ingredient in food products and as feed for livestock, as well as the price would be at least 5 times what PET costs now. Compared to other plastics, PET is easily recyclable and has many uses. The demand for recycled PET is extremely high due to its use as a replacement for polyester, which can be used in carpeting, clothing material and textile products such as “polar fleece.” Some companies turn PET into fiberfill for sleeping bags, toys and jackets.

A Majority of the bottles that are used by Liquid Assets Bottled Water, Inc come from Ball Corporation (one of the largest supplier of plastic bottles in the world) Ball also supplies bottles for major soda companies and with these companies "environmental friendly" is of top importance. Ball also uses at least 10% recycled plastic. Ball Plastics has also reduced its gram weight on the bottles from 23.5 g to 15.2 g a 35% reduction over the past few years. Plastic Packaging (Will open in a new tab).

Half of all polyester carpet made in the U.S is made from recycled plastic (PET). Liquid Assets has several bottling facilities throughout the country (Arizona, Texas, Pennslyvania, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Washington) thus shipping from the closest facility to the customer, reducing the amount of fuel and carbon emissions.  Liquid Assets also uses 65% recycled boxes (in 80% of the product we produce) as well as the bottles, labels, caps are all recyclable!

Liquid Assets is in business of Marketing with the custom label bottled water, the water is a added feature, with the quality of product provided you are not only providing a great marketing medium to the customers, but we are also encouraging the customer to reuse the bottles (filling up with a 5 gallon jug or tap should they choose-warm water and soap to clean bottle after repeat usage) thus providing marketing as well as eliminating the customer from using a "generic" water bottle that gets thrown out or ideally recycled, instead of 4-5 generic water bottles consumed, we hope that only 1 bottle of a "custom label" bottle is used.  Private label bottled water is the way to go!

We encourage recycling in several ways not only by putting the bottle in a recyclable bin, but to re-use the bottle. Thus creating a marketing medium, eliminating the need for another marketing medium.  Private label bottled water has several advantages over other marketing mediums.  More paper gets thrown out then bottled water bottles.

Recycling of one ton of old paper saves 17 trees, 2 barrels of oil, 4,100 kilowatts of energy (enough to power the avg home for 6 months) 3.2 cubic yards of landfill space, 7,000 gallons of water and 60 lbs of air polltution. If we recycled all of the newspapers printed in the U.S on a Sunday we would save 550,000 trees.

Liquid Assets also encourages a minimum order of at least 60 cases to all customers (we have a few less then but are encouraging those customers to take more at one time); this not only provides savings to the customer but reduces the resources used.

A ten minute shower is about 50 gallons of water, it takes 440 BTU’s per gallon which equals 22,000 BTU’s

1 plastic bottle of water is avg of 900 BTU’s to produce.

Through our encouragement of recycling we are working to “reduce, reuse and recycle”
